"The Borgias" Review

"The Borgias" is one of the latest mini-series on TV, created by Neil Jordan (Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994)).

The series is partly historical, partly fictional.

The series is not appropriate for anyone under 18, to be perfectly honest. Lots of sex, nudity and gruesome violence. Even some adults might be a bit put off by the content.

The series is directed with excellence; the pace is rapid and never lets you down until the end credits roll.

The cast is solid; Jeremy Irons and Colm Feore are, as always, brilliant. The real pleasant surprise is the Montreal-born Francois Arnaud (J'ai tue ma mere (2009)); he definitely holds his own against acting guru Irons. You can't even tell he's a Quebecer.

***** Five Stars!
