The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (i.e. Will & Kate) visiting Ottawa on Canada Day 2011
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, visited the capital of Canada to celebrate Canada Day with the Canadians, who appeared as some 300,000 on the Capital Hill alone, just to catch a glimpse of their Royal Highnesses.
Personally, I caught a glimpse of them as they went and then left the Capital Hill for the 12:00 PM official ceremony. (Click on the link above to see my video).
People on the Hill cheered whenever the Duke and Duchess were mentioned in speeches and the like, and the two seemed overwhelmed and almost taken aback by such love of the Canadian people for their Royal persons.
People say that royalty in Canada is slowly dying; but I think that yesterday proved just how much we are still very much attached to our monarchs.
Long live the Queen, and this happy couple.
